3-Month extension for Boston taxpayers and others affected by Marathon Explosions
The IRS is giving eligible tax payers (Suffolk county residents, victims and their families and first responders) until July 15, 2013 to file and pay any taxes normally due on April 15th. No filing or payment penalties will be due provided you file by July 15th.
Where’s My Refund
You can generally expect the IRS to issue your refund in less than 21 calendar days after they receive your tax return. If you are experiencing a delay, go to IRS.gov and click “Where’s My Refund”. The site is updated every 24 hours and you will need the following information: your social security number, your filing status and the exact amount of your refund. You can also contact a customer service representative by calling 800-829-1040.
Important Upcoming Dates
Second quarter federal estimated tax payments for individuals, trusts, and calendar-year corporations are due by June 15th. NH BET estimated payments are also due. Report of foreign bank and financial accounts (FBAR) is due June 30, 2013.
